1. Understand what he said 1o0%.
- I release the stress of forgetting what he said and could concentrate on
the on-going conversation. Besides, his attitude/experience about science is embedded
in what he said. The only way to figure out and extract the essence is by listening
the tape again and again.
2. Pick up the words, phrases, and sentences in his talking
- To improve speaking/writing ability, it's very important to pick up new terms
and add them into your own outputs. From whom else can I learn more, comparing
to a prestigious/experienced professor?
3. Imitate how he precisely express his ideas.
- In this level, I am talking more about logic than English ability. Of course, you need
basic English ability to express yourself. However, the other way around is not always
true: A native speaker is not necessarily a speaker with clarity and conciseness.
4. Improve my speaking problems
- I will never improve until I practice. Furthermore, I will never improve efficiently
until I actually be an audience to myself. I found lots of errors and bad habits in my talking
. I will try to make the adjustment and check out if it works out or not the next time.
Good job!
